BHILWARA BRANCH (CIRC)

An introduction

Established in 1987, the Bhilwara branch of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) had a humble beginning with a mere 50 members and around 100 students/articles during its initial phase. CA R. L. Nolakha served as the inaugural President of the branch, which initially lacked an independent office and an examination center in Bhilwara for students. Official work was conducted from the offices of practicing chartered accountants who held various executive positions during their tenure.

In 1998, the branch took a significant step by renting an office in Sindhu Nagar, Bhilwara, to conduct its activities. This office was later relocated to a building in Shastri Nagar in 2007. The year 2001 marked a pivotal moment for Bhilwara as it obtained its first examination center, initially catering to a minimal number of passing students. Due to the burgeoning demand, two additional examination centers were swiftly introduced in Bhilwara.

Over the years, there has been a noteworthy positive transformation in the syllabus of the Chartered Accountancy course. The number of members grew significantly, surpassing 198, and the student count soared to unprecedented levels, reaching 5000 by 2010. In the same year, 2700 students participated in the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) examination, while approximately 1700 students appeared in the CA Final and CA Inter Exams.

Since 2007, the branch has been actively organizing management and communication skills, orientation classes, and information technology training for CA students. In 2009, the UIT Bhilwara allocated land in Patel Nagar for the construction of the branch premises.

Construction commenced, and the newly built structure was inaugurated by CA. K. Raghu, the President of ICAI (2014-15). On February 6, 2017, the branch relocated from Shastri Nagar to its newly constructed ICAI building at Patel Nagar, where all branch-related activities are now conducted.

In 2018, the branch constructed the CA circle near the allocated land on Ring Road. The Bhilwara branch has actively contributed to the accounting community by organizing events such as the All India CA Student Conference in 2009, 2014, 2016, and 2024, with participation from students across the country. The branch also hosted the All India CPE Conference in 2004, drawing CA members from across the nation. In 2023, the Bhilwara Branch successfully hosted a national conference for CAs named "Anant," attended by ICAI President, Central Council members, Regional Council office bearers, and more than 850 CAs from across the country.

As of 2024, the Bhilwara branch boasted about more than 1600 CA members and 5500+ registered students. The current chairman of the branch, CA Sonesh Kabra, proudly attests that Bhilwara's chartered accountants have left an indelible mark both within the country and abroad including:
